Changes to BricsCAD Upgrade Options
What’s Changed?
Octave (Bricsys) have made changes to upgrade options for BricsCAD perpetual license holders.
From January 1, 2026:

- Customers will only be able to upgrade from the three previous versions of BricsCAD. For example, when V27 is released, only licenses on V26, V25, and V24 will be eligible for upgrade.
- Licenses on V23 and older will no longer be upgradable; however, customers can continue using them under the terms of their perpetual license.
- This policy change does not apply to BricsCAD Subscription customers, who always have access to the latest version.
Support Policy Alignment
To align with the new upgrade rules, the Bricsys Support Policy will also change from January 1, 2026:
• Octave (Bricsys) will support the last four (instead of three) versions of BricsCAD: V26, V25, V24, and V23.
• This ensures Maintenance customers receive full support for all versions that remain eligible for upgrade, enhancing the value of the Maintenance plan.
