In BricsCAD, whenever you start a new drawing using QNEW, or NEW drawing it will use a template. So without knowing it you will have already been making use of templates.
Using Templates is one of the simplest ways to customise BricsCAD. It's also the easiest way to achieve significant productivity gains and consistency in the work you produce. You can use Templates to setup and save your preferred print settings, dimension styles, text styles, Layers, Layouts and Title blocks.
When BricsCAD launches it will open with a new drawing by default, ready for you to start drawing. We cover Templates in our BricsCAD Beginners training.
The option to start a new drawing can be found on the File menu or on the Home tab of the Ribbon.
In BricsCAD whenever you start a NEW drawing, a dialog box will be displayed. This will show a list of the templates (DWT extension) available to you. A preview of the selected template is displayed on the right-hand side.
